About the Role

The Opportunity
The primary purpose of this fast-paced role is to work as a team with the Project Manager to deliver projects safely, on time and on budget. To supervise the project team; meet contractual obligations; and maximise profitability in accordance with company operations procedures which include safety, environmental and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Work as a team to deliver projects within budget constraints, contract requirements and quality assurance guidelines
• Support the Project Manager ensuring project performance is actively monitored and reviewed, with risks and opportunities identified and pursued to reduce risk
• Projects are effectively administered to meet commercial, contractual and systems requirements
• In partnership with the Project Manager a sound project management plan is maintained using relevant and best practice project management methodologies and taking into consideration safety, quality assurance and environmental dimensions
• Directs management attention to specific concern areas based on independent sound interpretation of project financial statements
• Work as a team ensuring project is planned, scheduled and delivered in alignment with Project Plan
• Provide technical expertise and project management experience (including stakeholder management) in order to analyse complex situations, identify critical issues and manage the process of developing deliverable strategies
• Provide cost effective engineering solutions and implemented across the project
• Effectively translates ideas and concepts into clear and concise reports and documents using computer software
• Project resourcing requirements including people, services and materials are proactively identified
• Client-focused approach with genuine interest in their needs, being professional, accurate and objective.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

· Proven track record working as a Mechanical Project Engineer in a project environment, (air, chemical, food or water industries)

· Possess a minimum Bachelor Degree BE(Mechanical) from a recognised university

· Specific knowledge in areas of air and/or water/wastewater engineering would be desirable.

· Technical expertise and project management experience (including stakeholder management) in order to analyse complex situations, identify critical issues and manage the process of developing deliverable strategies;

· Thorough understanding of risk analysis for each project and make decisions based on achieving optimum value from the project within manageable parameters;

· Process and procedurally thorough; clearly able to follow through with activities and procedures in a well administered manner;

· Demonstrated client-focused approach with genuine interest in their needs, being professional, accurate and objective.

· Strong Communication - Excellent command of the English language (including technical writing and spoken);

· Demonstrates patience, having a friendly, approachable disposition and attitude– expressing opinions appropriately,

· Demonstrates professional presentation skills; comfortable addressing senior management and clients;

· Proven ability to work as a team player, sharing knowledge, contributing proactively to achieve Emission Treatment Solutions and client’s goals ;

· Substantial experience engaging and supervising project teams, contractors

· Action / initiative - Works to meet objectives before being asked or required to do so;

· Self-motivated and goal oriented with practical sense to prioritising and multitasking work requirements across multiple stakeholders;

· Able to work unsupervised; challenged to consider better ways of providing solutions to our clients; lateral thinker and innovator;

· Decision Making/Judgment - Demonstrates the ability to make timely and effective decisions, knows when to escalate, established problem solving ability; ethical in all transactions.

· Quality of Work - Pays attention to detail and quality of work produced;

· Demonstrated ability in seeking ways to improve outcomes, processes, etc; being prepared to double check as necessary.

· Written communication - Effectively translates ideas and concepts into clear and concise reports and documents using computer software; demonstrates professional and accepted report writing skills.

· Continuous development – Demonstrates ongoing commitment to continuously develop one’s own skills and competencies to support the continued/ongoing growth and success of Emission Treatment Solutions and the client.

· Results oriented - Strong results orientation and a proven track record of delivering projects on time, on budget and to required quality standards

· Ability to lead, motivate and develop multidisciplinary project team

· Demonstrated experience in AutoCad, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project.

· Professional engineering memberships highly regarded.
